So I was recently playing a wizard that used magic missile a ton; but due to there not being a lot of tank type characters I took the spell shield to help negate some damage aimed at me(+5 ac till next turn). So basically something would swing at me and I could (with the use of a spell slot) make my ac 20 till my next turn.
