It has been about 33 years ago but I had a Ruger 77 Varmint in 220 Swift and used IMR 4064 with Speer 52 gr HP. Extremely accurate but I did not have a chrno but from trajectory should have been doing between 3800 and 3900 fps. I shot crows with it in East NC peanut fields. When you hit one it looked like setting off a cherry bomb in it.

The .220 Swift - RifleShooter

The .220 Swift has long enjoyed a reputation for excellent accuracy in good rifles, and it, along with a sharp-shouldered version of the same cartridge--called the .220 Arrow--were mildly popular among benchrest competitors during the 1940s. The Swift's ability to shoot bullets into small groups has not gone unnoticed by others, either.

Best Zero for .243 (Sighting in Right) – Camo Crew

Beyond that 300 (296) yard distance, the trajectory of the little 100 grain, .243 bullet starts to drop more rapidly and its kinetic energy falls below 1,000 ft. lbs. at about 325 yards. Because of this, I'd suggest that the farthest range you should attempt to kill deer-sized animals with a 100 grain .243 bullet is 400 yards.

Flattest Shooting Rifle Cartridges by Caliber — Ron …

The 220 Swift would be my pick for coyotes, rodents, and probably pronghorn if it weren't for the wind deflection issue. Low B.C. always means more wind deflection. For bigger game, I could easily hunt with either the 240 or 6.5-300 Weatherby's.
